question 2 of six · an open board

What is reality?

Is reality fundamentally matter, information, mind, or something we don't yet have a word for?

The board

The ground floor of existence gets stranger the closer you look. The quantum measurement problem refuses to sit still; the constants of physics look fine-tuned in ways nobody can fully explain; information-first proposals (“it from bit”) and simulation arguments both suggest the substrate might not be matter at all. Is reality made of stuff, of information, of mind — and crucially, what observation could ever tell those apart?
